In 1966, Douglas Tompkins began The North Face company as a mountain climbing equipment retail store in San Fransisco, California. Two years later, Kenneth ‘Hap’ Klopp acquired the company. ‘The North Face’ name came from the idea that the north face of a mountain is usually the coldest & iciest route to climb.

In the 1980’s, the brand added skiing gear to their merchandise. In pop culture, North Face jackets have been worn by many big names including Barack Obama, Kanye West & Drake which over the years has made their brand a house hold name.

The Latest in Nike Air Force 1’s

The Nike Air Force 1, designed by Bruce Kilgore, was originally produced in 1982. Although the sneaker was discontinued the same year, the AF1 would re-emerge in 1986 with a modernized Nike sign. Since the 80’s, over 1,700 styles & colors have been released, bringing in more than 800 million dollars in revenue per year. The AF1 was the first generation of ‘Nike Air’ products.
